The best players of the IIHF U18 World Championship have been selected by the tournament Directorate and the media. The U.S.'s Clayton Keller was named MVP.

Jesse Puljujarvi shone with a hat trick as Finland beat Sweden 6-1 to win the gold medal at the 2016 IIHF U18 World Championship in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Nightmare finish for Canada
Host U.S. takes bronze with 10-3 rout

The U.S. ran up a 6-1 first-period lead and thrashed Canada 10-3 to win bronze on home ice on Sunday. It was the biggest blowout in U18 bronze history.

Latvia sends Danes down
Latvia edged Denmark 4-3 in a shootout in Game Three of the relegation series. The Latvians stay in the elite division for 2017, while the Danes are relegated.

Lindstrom the shootout hero
Linus Lindstrom scored the shootout winner as Sweden beat Canada 6-5 in the late semi-final. The Swedes will face neighboring rival Finland for gold on Sunday.

Finns dethrone U.S.
In a tense semi-final, Finland upset the host U.S. 4-2 to make the gold medal game. Aapeli Rasanen scored twice, including the winner with 37 seconds left.
